So Long, Sparky

I'll be busy with a Model UN conference this weekend, but I couldn't let February 13th go by without acknowledging the death, fifteen years ago today, of Charles M. Schulz. Anything I can say about him is inadequate and I'll ramble on more about Schulz, Peanuts, and what they meant to me later this  year, so I'll keep this post short. Schulz was an icon of cartooning and one of my heroes, a simple, modest man who nevertheless created one of the most successful comic strips (maybe even the most successful comic strip) of all time. He is missed.

Oh, and the WordPress site is live, so if you want to look that over, feel free to.

Schedule of Posts-22-1-2015

All dates subject to change; I'll keep you posted as situations develop.

Charles M. Schulz: A tribute–13 February; probably one of the first I'll put up on the new blog.
Baseball Doubleheader–March or April; when's Opening Day this year?
What We Talk about when We Talk about Sharknado–uncertain; review of Sharknado and Sharknado 2 to follow, if not integrated into the post itself.
It's Your 65th Birthday, Charlie Brown–2 October.
Alex vs. the Golden Age of Television–TBD.
Star Wars–probably a series of posts, TBD.
A Critique of "Heaven Is for Real"–TBD.

A New Direction

So, I’ve been thinking. Mostly about other stuff, but a lot about this blog and the direction I want it to take. And while I’m not entirely certain of what will happen going forward, I do have some ideas as to what I want to do with this blog.

Je Suis Charlie

[No footnotes this week. This post started as a journal entry of sorts, and I decided to make it my first official content of 2015 on a whim and because this is too imporant to pass up, as is my unofficial policy regarding acts of terror and other current events. The footnotes were omitted due to time constraints, and the fact that (ironically) this is too serious for my usual style.]
You should know what’s happened by now. If you don’t the BBC has good coverage. My thoughts, as an amateur cartoonist and political person, below the cut:

2014: Year in Review

Goodness, is the year over already? Seems like it was September only yesterday—and September felt like July was only a recent memory. Strange how time flies like that...

Change of Address

The new URL for the blog formerly known as the Diary of an Atomic Man and parked at that address for most of its existence is lagomorphslimited.blogspot.com. Please adjust your browsers and bookmarks accordingly. Thank you. [1]

Throw it at the Wall and See What Sticks Edition

Thirteen years ago, three airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center and Pentagon. I would call this an act of senseless violence except that there was sense to it--in a Shakespearean sense of the word [1]. Senseless or no, it was a horrible tragedy and I assume that all of you have given the event some thought.
